This special edition fleur-de-lis pin was created specifically for the French Quarter Festival's 15th anniversary in 1998 by writer and silversmith Ellis Anderson, making it a true vintage gem! Inspired by the beautiful iron work throughout the French Quarter, this solid sterling silver piece can be worn as either a brooch pin or a pendant.

From the original artist statement:

"No visitor to the Quarter can escape the allure of it's curling, cascading iron work, symbols of grace and strength. Peering into the mystery of the tropical courtyards overlaid with their gates of iron lace creates an indelible picture in the observer's mind. In this 'Gates of Grace' series, I've used various elements from these elegant guardians, using techniques that captures in sterling the same fluid feel of our wrought iron treasures. The gates that inspired this fleur-de-lis design are no longer standing guard at 917 N. Rampart. I like to think that the beauty and history of their design will serve as a reminder to us how precious and vulnerable is our French Quarter heritage and the vigilance needed to preserve it."
